Please contact us with the details of your event so that we can give you a personalized price
quote. Prices vary depending upon the size of the ensemble, the length of the engagement,
and in some cases, the location of the event.
String Quartet Two violins, viola, and cello. The classic choice for weddings and most
other special events.
Flute Quartet Flute, violin, viola, and cello.
String Quartet and trumpet String quartet (above) accompanying a trumpet for fanfares
and processionals.
Double String Quartet - Four violins, two violas, and two cellos. Big, full string
sound at an affordable price.
Chamber Orchestra Eight violins, four violas, four cellos and two double bass.
String Trio Violin, viola, and cello.
Flute Trio - Flute, viola, and cello.
Duet Violin and viola.
Solo Violin
Higher rates may apply for bookings made for holidays; i.e. Jan. 1, Feb. 14th, Easter, July 4th,
Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or December 31st after 6 PM.
Optional Services
Note: Additional fees may apply to the optional services. Please notify Halcyon Strings at the time of booking if you require these services.
PA System $100 - Amplification for extremely large or noisy venues such as trade shows or large events.
Protective canopy $50 - Our contract requires that the musicians and their instruments be protected from the elements during outdoor events.
Chairs (no fee) A string quartet requires four straight, backed, armless chairs. If such chairs are unavailable, please notify us ahead of time so we can bring our own.
FAQ
What instruments make up a string quartet?
A string quartet is comprised of two violins, a viola, and a cello. This combination is
perhaps the most common and popular string formation with both audiences and musicians alike.
A string quartet has a great deal of versatility of style, sound, repertoire, and harmonic
fullness.
What if my event is outdoors?
We are happy to perform in outdoor venues, provided certain conditions are met for the safety
and comfort of the musicians and their instruments.
My event will take place in a large room and Im concerned the musicians wont be heard.
We can supply our musicians with additional amplification in the form of a specialized PA
system that will produce an excellent transparent sound. Youll hear the instruments, not
the amplifiers. This service requires an additional fee and must be requested ahead of time.

I have a particular piece of music in mind that is not on your repertoire list. Can you
play it?
Our repertoire list is not exhaustive. However, if you have any special requests, please
contact us so that we can try to accommodate you.

Are you willing to play outside of the Portland metro area?
We usually perform within a 50 mile radius of Portland; however, we are happy to be wherever
you need us. Please contact us for special requests.
What are the setup requirements for a string quartet?
The musicians will provide their own music stands. We will need you to provide chairs for
the musicians and a performance space that allows our musicians to work in a safe and
comfortable environment.
